Penguin design awards 2011 3rd place

I know I have been neglecting my blog but am back and ready to share all what i've been up to and all the wonderful things i see. First off with some some good news placed 3rd place at this years penguin design awards, had a great night with a lot of positive feedback, there was a lot of great work on show congrats to all the finalists.

Good news I have been shortlisted for this year puffin children's design competition. This year brief was to design a cover for one of Roald Dahl classic story James and the giant peach. The concept behind my cover was to capture the peculiar, surreal and tospy turvy nature of the story, hence the reason why its upside down.

Results of the winner will be announced at the award ceremony later this month, I'll keep you posted enjoy.

Business has been slow at M&S so i have been using my time wisely by doodling which have been good since recently i have been neglecting it.

Pick Me Up Exibition

Yesterday was my first time attenting this exhibition which launched last year its one of the only graphics arts exhibitions around. As well as there being art work on show there was an array of collectives live doing work it was like you had walked into someone studio space which was nice to see. One part of the exhibition i enjoyed was Anthony Burrill section a table full of graphics scissors, glue and paper and you just made your own franzine which was a whole of fun.
