Penguin design awards 2011 3rd place

I know I have been neglecting my blog but am back and ready to share all what i've been up to and all the wonderful things i see. First off with some some good news placed 3rd place at this years penguin design awards, had a great night with a lot of positive feedback, there was a lot of great work on show congrats to all the finalists.

Penguin Design Awards 2011

Good news I have been shortlisted for this year puffin children's design competition. This year brief was to design a cover for one of Roald Dahl classic story James and the giant peach. The concept behind my cover was to capture the peculiar, surreal and tospy turvy nature of the story, hence the reason why its upside down.

Results of the winner will be announced at the award ceremony later this month, I'll keep you posted enjoy.

Business has been slow at M&S so i have been using my time wisely by doodling which have been good since recently i have been neglecting it.

A t-shirt competition was set by blvd , the brief was to capture the essence and energy of city life. With this design i wanted to encapsulate the many elements that i would see and expirence in and around the city of london from conversations i heard to signs i saw.

Finally got this to load after how long, its a project from makability month. Within the illustration are pictures which i took on the day also quotes/conversations of people within the area.

I haven't drawn in a while, so i decided to make some a5 cards to sell at our 2nd year exhibition show.

Was supposed to be working on my manifesto brief but went into a deep doodling session which i anit done in a lng time, it was gd... i call this piece the end only because i repeated it alot within the drawing.

About Me Project

Had to tell something about myself in a creative way.

so within my drawing there are little things about me from

activities i like to do to saying that i say a lot.

Really enjoyed doing this project as it allowed me to take

my drawings to a new scale from my normal A4 size.

One of my challenges for the year is to make this animated.

Growth

Thought i face my fear of you never guess wat..... COLOUR : 0, i always think by adding colour i would ruin my drawing but this xmas i decided to add colour to one of my drawings and i reali liked the outcome i feel that this gives my work another dimension and coming more to life......hmmm

Playing around with photoshop

Yeah boi

Looking back at some of my old work I noticed that I used a lot more colour than i do now.

So last christmas i was inspired to add colour to my work.

Some more sketchbook drawings, recently been drawing a lot of little characters which would be so dope animated.

Some more sketch book drawing thought i do something different to what i normally do and challenge myself. Inspired by a friends character drawings.
